The evolved nurse education and the role in meeting the needs of an increasingly ageing and diverse population will equip nurses with the knowledge and skills to understand the factors that impact the health of elderly people and diverse populations. Nurses equipped with geriatric care skills and knowledge possess a positive view of ageing and related health conditions and understand that the elderly need specialized care. They are also equipped with the skills to provide such needed special care to the aged population. Redesigning nurse practice and education will equip the nurses with the knowledge required to treat complex health conditions related to health care and changing mental and physical abilities. Diversity in nurses’ education will equip them with the required skills and knowledge to develop culturally competent approaches and practices in nursing practice (Sherman & Prestia, 2018).
